Trail Description This is a horse trail that has been adopted by the Mountain Biking community. Very easy access. Park at the Green Ponds trail head, The Lower Snow Basin Parking lot or the Art Noord Trail head. The trail makes a loop that takes about 3 hours to walk around. It is frequented by Mountain Bikers, Hikers and Equestrians. I've never had any problems with other folks being polite and giving the horses the right of way on the trail. On the North West corner of the trail is a fork, One way goes back to Art Noord, The other over to Green Ponds. The third trail goes up to the old Maples Camp Ground and the lower Snow Basin Parking lot. From the Maples you can access the Cold Canyon Overlook trail that wil take you to the top of the mountain looking west over Ogden. these are easy trails that are maintained for Mountain Bikes. Not very rocky, trails switch back to avoid steep grades for the bikers. It is on the shady side of the mountain so it makes a great afternoon or evening ride. The trail is heavy soil and the forest service bans use when the trail is wet. ( it gets pretty muddy)
